MSP LTER Senior Personnel Kristen Nelson teaches the Senior Capstone course for the Environmental Science, Policy, and Management major at the University of Minnesota. Each year, 50 students take the class and conduct 7-9 group projects that grow out of partner-generated ideas with student creative license to explore new approaches for the partner organization. Students consult with partners, redefine projects, gather new data, write a report, and present findings and new ideas to the officials, staff, and public. MSP LTER is supporting this course by sharing datasets and facilitating partnerships with municipalities.
